October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month
In 1988, President Ronald Reagan designated October as national Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month to bring light to an issue that affects so many people. Each year in the United States, approximately 1 million children die in utero or shortly after birth, making it 1 in 4 pregnancies that result in a loss.
Help us speak out!
Share these photos on Facebook, Instagram, X, or any other communication outlet and use #TTHremembers:

Join us all month long as we take action to raise awareness and honor all of the babies gone too soon. We have put together an October 2025 PAIL month calendar with one activity for each day in October (click the link to pull up the full size calendar with clickable links). Items that have additional information are hyperlinked on the calendar. Consider participating in whichever ones are most meaningful to you or try and hit them all!

Please continue to spread the word! Share information about our organization with family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, anyone. When people start opening up about pregnancy loss, they are often surprised to find how many others they know who have been affected – you are not alone!
Thank you for speaking out & breaking the silence about pregnancy loss!
Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day
Pregnancy & Infant Loss Remembrance Day is observed annually on October 15 to honor the memory of children who have passed and to bring awareness to the issue of pregnancy loss.
At Through the Heart, we view this day as an opportunity to educate about pregnancy loss but also to provide peace and comfort for those who have experienced a loss and remember the children who where taken from us too soon. We ask you to join us in the following ways:
1. Share this image on Facebook, Instagram, blogs, email, or any other communication medium to help speak out about pregnancy loss:

2. Join us in lighting a candle at 7pm local time on Wednesday, October 15, and leave it burning for at least one hour. The wave of light is an international event where the result is a continuous chain of light spanning the globe for a 24 hour period in honor and remembrance of the children who die during pregnancy or shortly after birth
3. Join the conversation by using #pregnancyloss #waveoflight and #TTHremembers
4. Share a photo of your candle with us on Instagram, our Facebook page or via email
**Thank you to everyone who shared a photo of their candle during last year’s wave of light! We remember with you now and always**
